community development initiatives
The S&G Moralo home of hopeProviding love and educational resources for orphaned children from rural communities
Background
Founded in 2016 to serve the needs of rural children
This organisation was founded out of the care and love for the disadvantaged communities especially children and the youth. The Managing director of this institution was born and raised in a rural community with a whole lot of issues that end up causing children to drop out of school. This has been an issue over a few years. Some children drop out because they come from child- headed homes. We could no longer stand back and pretend it’s not happening and expect the Government to come through for us. In seeing that the status quo has not changed over the years, we decided to do something about it. We started with simple things like supply of toiletries and food parcels to encourage the children to love going to school. In the past years we distributed shoes, school uniforms and toiletries to needy children in schools around North West. We have also distributed books to one primary school. We also. renovated Lekoko Methodist church. We aim to help children who are intellectually gifted but somehow might not be able to finish school due to lack of resources. We then adopted 10 children through Lekoko Methodist church who identified these children for us. In the process of doing all this a Non-Profit Organisation was registered with CIPC in June 2016. To date this organisation is self-funded by the MD.
